Job summary

Mercure Jakarta Gatot Subroto is seeking an Assistant Executive Housekeeper to support the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily housekeeping operations. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and service quality across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.

With at least 2 years of hotel housekeeping experience and supervisory background, you will lead Room Attendants and related staff, conduct inspections, and coordinate with Front Office.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office and hotel PMS. English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in planning, organizing, and supervising daily housekeeping operations.
• Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and facilities meet hotel standards.
• Supervise and coordinate Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, Housemen, and other staff.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards.
• Monitor room status and coordinate with Front Office for availability, VIPs, and special requests.
• Prepare staff schedules, assignments, attendance records, and reports.
• Train, coach, and motivate staff to improve productivity and service quality.
• Handle housekeeping supplies, linen, uniforms, and equipment properly.
• Monitor inventory levels; assist with monthly stocktaking and purchasing.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints professionally with follow-up.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and fire procedures.
• Coordinate with Engineering on defects and maintenance needs.
• Assist budgets, cost control, and efficient resource use.
• Support quality initiatives and uphold departmental standards.
• Cover the position in the Executive Housekeeper’s absence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
