Job summary

PaxOcean in Batam seeks a Project Quality Lead to coordinate and monitor quality activities, ensuring inspections, welding, and documentation meet project specs, codes, and Class requirements. The role collaborates with Clients, Class, and internal teams to maintain QMS and ISO 9001 compliance.

You will manage ITP, NCR/CAR follow-ups, welding documentation, audits, and QA records while ensuring safety and environmental policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in engineering or science with industrial experience.
• Minimum 5 years of inspection experience in shipyard/oil & gas or related field.
• Familiar with standards and codes for Classification societies.
• Knowledge of inspection, testing techniques and standards.
• Proficient English and effective communication skills.
• Strong planning and execution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Classification societies and third party inspection agencies to ensure standards adherence.
• Collect, update and file all inspection records.
• Prepare Project Quality Plan and ITP per project specs and Class requirements.
• Ensure ITP is followed and inspections are timely.
• Maintain NCR/OR and CAR/PAR logs for prompt closure.
• Reference all results to relevant codes and standards during inspections.
• Ensure welding is covered with WPS/PQR.
• Document Project Quality activities with client and Class sign-off.
• Act as point-person to assist auditors during internal/external audits.
• Maintain company quality objectives and participate in ISO9001 management reviews.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
• Follow Safety and Environmental policies per yard guidelines.

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating and monitoring project quality activities to ensure all inspection, testing, welding, and documentation are carried out in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and Classification Society requirements. The role works closely with Clients, Class, third-party inspectors, Ship Superintendents, and internal teams to ensure quality requirements are properly implemented and documented. The position is also responsible for managing the Project Quality Plan, ITP, NCR/CAR follow-up, welding documentation, audit support, and quality records, while ensuring compliance with the company's Quality Management System, ISO 9001 requirements, and applicable safety and environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

Task and Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and liaise with Classification societies, Third party inspection agencies, Ship Superintendents and other Trades, to ensure adherence to related Standards.
• Collecting, updating and filing all relevant inspections records.
• To prepare Project Quality Plan and Inspection and Test Plan in accordance with Project Specification and Class requirements.
• To ensure ITP is strictly followed and that inspection and testing are carried-out in a timely manner.
• Responsible in maintaining NCR/OR and CAR/PAR are log and followed-up for immediate close-up.
• To ensure that all inspection and testing result is carried-out reference with Codes and Standard.
• To ensure that welding is properly covered with WPS/PQR.
• To ensure proper documentation of Project Quality related activities, confirmed and approved signed by Client and Class.
• Act as Point-person and primarily responsible to assist Auditors during internal/external audit program
• Responsible for maintaining Company Quality objected are followed.
• Attends Management review as required in ISO9001
• Other duties as required by Management.
• To follow the Safety Rules and Regulation set refer to Occupational Health & Safety Policy and Environmental Policy by the yard

Key Requirements

Preferred Competencies:

• Diploma/Degree in any engineering/Science discipline/Industrial experience
• 5 years of inspection experience in a shipyard, oil & gas industry or related field.
• Familiar with standards and codes for all Classification societies' requirements.
• Should be conversant with applicable inspection, testing techniques and standards.
• Good command over English language and effective communication skills.
• Good planning and execution skills.
