We are looking for a hands-on designer to own the quality of video and visual content for the Crypto Project. Video concept development, design and editing are the core of this role, supported by brand and graphic design. You will turn product updates, guides, campaigns and event material into publication-ready work.
In this role, AIC means AI-Native IC (Individual Contributor): someone who uses AI and their own judgment to solve problems and deliver a usable contribution. The “vs” in the title distinguishes familiarity with AI tools from accountable contribution.
This is not a role for producing requested images or handing over the first AI-generated draft. You will define what needs to be communicated, to whom and why, choose the right visual approach, and own quality, factual accuracy and agreed deadlines. Frontend development and product UI implementation are not required.
Identify the most important visual communication problem, solve it through video and design, and deliver work that the next person can use without substantial rework, within the agreed deadline.
Own the full cycle:
Concepts, storyboards, scene composition and motion graphics for product explainers, feature updates and short campaign videos. Use motion to improve understanding rather than add decoration.
Turn product recordings and real event footage into finished edits with captions, transitions, color, sound and appropriate exports. Adapt the story for landscape, portrait and square formats, mobile viewing and sound-off playback.
Define and apply typography, color, layout, imagery and motion principles consistently. Prioritize useful production quality and reuse over a large rebranding exercise for its own sake.
Create X and Telegram assets, carousels, campaign key visuals, thumbnails, event graphics and explanatory images for Medium and Insights. Make complex concepts and flows clear through visual explanation.
Choose the clearest way to communicate a fictional product update. Create a 20–40-second explainer, two supporting graphics and a compact reusable style guide. Pass: 76/100 or higher. Required: Loom, intent.md and final directive.md.
Supplied fictional brief: “ClearTrail” is a demo wallet activity viewer. In this fictional release, users can filter their history by date, distinguish pending/confirmed/failed activity, and export the filtered rows to CSV. Audience: existing nontechnical users reviewing recent activity on mobile. Message: understand the status and export the right records in fewer steps. CTA: “Open Activity and try the filters.” The product does not promise instant settlement, tax certification, investment returns, or safety guarantees. There are no supplied brand assets: create a small original visual direction. Any UI you draw is an illustrative mockup, not evidence of a real released product.
What to do:
Role-specific outputs to link from directive.md: A 20–40-second captioned explainer, two graphics at the stated sizes, storyboard, one-page style guide, reusable source/project files and a short quality-check record.
Submit a Loom video of no more than 5 minutes, intent.md explaining why you chose the problem and how you prioritized alternatives, and the final directive.md with objective, scope, requirements and completion criteria. Include accessible links to your work and verification evidence in a results/handoff appendix in directive.md. Earlier directive versions, problem.md, agents.md, claude.md and career_leverage.md are optional.
The role-specific Quest brief contains the full instructions and weighted rubric. Scores are whole points out of 100; 76 or above passes and 75 does not. This is separate from the profile match score. The reviewer records the final evaluation. The invitation states the exact deadline/timezone and any compensation terms before participation.
A particular degree, a prestigious employer background, mastery of every tool or frontend coding. We evaluate judgment and finished work rather than a software checklist.
