Job summary

XLSmart is seeking a Product Discovery lead to own end-to-end SME AI product opportunities within the Nexus ecosystem. You will uncover problems, translate them into product concepts, and define requirements for rapid prototyping and commercialization with AI agents.

Collaborate with AI engineers, UX, GTM and Commercial teams to validate concepts, prioritize opportunities, and steer MVPs from idea to measurable impact in Indonesia's SME landscape.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years in product discovery, digital product management or SME/venture roles.
• Strong structured problem-solving and customer discovery capability.
• Understanding Indonesian SMEs is highly desirable.
• Commercial orientation including product-market fit and willingness-to-pay.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured primary research with SMEs across segments and industries.
• Map SME journeys and identify pain points across business processes.
• Segment problems by frequency, severity, willingness to pay, addressable market and impact.
• Identify where AI/GenAI/agentic AI can solve SME problems beyond tech-led ideas.
• Translate pain points into problem statements, personas, value propositions and AI-use cases.
• Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, feasibility, fit and speed to market.
• Design concept tests, prototypes and MVP experiments with SMEs.
• Develop product requirements, acceptance criteria and success metrics for the Agent Development team.
• Work with AI engineers, UX/design, Product & Commercial Strategy, GTM, Partnerships and FinOps teams.
• Assess product-market fit and advise scaling, iteration or partnerships.
• Identify opportunities to combine AI products with XLSMART capabilities.
• Maintain a prioritized pipeline of SME AI opportunities.

Nexus is XLSmart's AI-native initiative: a trusted Indonesian AI exchange and agentic platform that connects the world's AI supply — cloud, models, applications and builders — to XLSmart's customer base. Its value compounds as more partners join the platform. This role owns those partnerships end to end.

Role Purpose

Discover, validate and define AI-powered products for SMEs by deeply understanding real customer pain points, identifying high-value opportunities, and translating validated problems into clear product concepts and requirements for rapid prototyping and commercialization through the Nexus ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structured primary research with SMEs across segments and industries through interviews, field visits, workshops, surveys and observation.
• Map SME customer journeys and identify recurring pain points across sales, marketing, customer service, finance, operations, inventory, productivity and other business processes.
• Segment problems by frequency, severity, willingness to pay, addressable market and potential business impact.
• Identify where AI, GenAI and agentic AI can solve meaningful SME problems rather than starting from technology-led ideas.
• Translate pain points into problem statements, personas, value propositions, user journeys, product concepts and AI-agent use cases.
• Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, commercial attractiveness, technical feasibility, strategic fit and speed to market.
• Design concept tests, prototypes and MVP experiments and validate them directly with SMEs before full-scale development.
• Develop product requirements, acceptance criteria, success metrics and hypotheses for the Agent Development team.
• Work closely with AI engineers, UX/design, Product & Commercial Strategy, GTM, Partnerships and Commercial/FinOps teams.
• Assess product-market fit and recommend whether products should be scaled, iterated, partnered, bundled or stopped.
• Identify opportunities to combine AI products with XLSMART connectivity, channels, data capabilities and existing SME propositions.
• Maintain a prioritized pipeline of SME AI opportunities and continuously feed validated concepts into the AI Venture / Product Studio.

Requirements:

• Approximately 4-8+ years of experience in product discovery, digital product management, customer research, innovation, consulting, SME/business solutions or venture building.
• Strong structured problem-solving and customer discovery capability.
• Experience translating customer problems into digital product or service propositions.
• Understanding of Indonesian SMEs and their operating environment is highly desirable.
• Good commercial orientation, including product-market fit, value proposition and willingness-to-pay thinking.
• Working knowledge of GenAI and agentic AI concepts; deep software engineering expertise is not required.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous, startup-like environment.
