Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee financial statements such as profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for the company.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with local accounting standards and regulations.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure the company’s financial health by analyzing revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts for various departments, including trucking, warehouse, and forwarding operations.
- Monitor budget adherence and provide periodic reviews to department heads on budget variances, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Track and control operating costs, ensuring the company remains efficient and cost-effective in its logistics operations.
- Review and optimize expenses related to transportation, warehousing, and freight forwarding, finding opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and the collection of payments from customers.
- Monitor outstanding accounts and manage relationships with customers and vendors to ensure smooth financial transactions.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is highly beneficial, as it provides familiarity with industry-specific financial processes and challenges.
- Proven track record of managing accounts payable, receivable, and financial reporting in a complex operational environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or industry-specific systems like TMS, WMS).
- Ability to perform complex financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis using Excel.
- Strong understanding of tax laws, including VAT, income tax, and other local regulations.
- Understanding of local and international financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the logistics and transportation industry.
- Familiarity with audit procedures and the ability to prepare for and coordinate audits (internal and external).
- Experience in handling large and complex data.
