Job summary

Glints is seeking an Accountant / Account Executive (6-Month Contract) based in Batam, Indonesia to lead the full spectrum of financial accounting, monthly closings, balance sheet governance and statutory compliance.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, you will drive closing cycles, reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare tax computations, and assist budgeting and forecasting while maintaining strong internal controls under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or ACCA qualification, or an equivalent professional designation.
• 3–5 years of financial accounting experience, preferably in retail or FMCG.
• Hands-on ERP experience (Oracle) with strong MS Excel skills.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax computations.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to meet tight closing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drive monthly financial closing procedures and prepare management reports.
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and year-end statutory reports.
• Compute corporate tax and support tax compliance.

Company Overview:

Our client is a prominent retail and FMCG enterprise. To support their expanding finance function, they are seeking an experienced and meticulous Accountant / Account Executive (6-Month Contract) based in Batam, Indonesia. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, this role is responsible for driving the full spectrum of financial accounting, monthly closing cycles, balance sheet governance, and statutory compliance in accordance with statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Closing & Reporting: Drive monthly financial closing procedures and prepare and review comprehensive management reports.
• Balance Sheet Governance: Prepare, review, and reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Statutory Compliance & Tax: Prepare quarterly financial statements, year-end statutory reports, and corporate tax computations.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist finance leadership in drafting financial forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analyses.
• Internal Control Enforcement: Maintain and ensure strict adherence to internal financial controls and risk management guidelines.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Support assigned ad-hoc finance initiatives and audit preparations as requested by the Finance Manager or Financial Controller.

Requirements:

• Education: Minimum Degree in Accountancy, ACCA qualification, or an equivalent professional accounting designation.
• Core Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant financial accounting experience, preferably gained within the retail or FMCG sectors.
• Systems & Tools: Hands-on experience working in an integrated ERP environment (e.g., Oracle) along with advanced MS Excel spreadsheet proficiency.
• Technical Accounting Skills: Strong grasp of financial reporting standards, tax computation principles, and complex balance sheet reconciliations.
• Professional Attributes: Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and commercially focused with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to meet tight closing deadlines under pressure.
