Job summary

BW Digital Pte Limited in Batam, Indonesia is seeking a Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting to lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for Indonesian entities. You will prepare statutory reports, manage reconciliations, and provide insightful analysis to support decision making.

Based in our Batam office, you will coordinate audits, strengthen controls, and collaborate with project teams on cost reporting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany balances.
• Prepare management accounts, statutory financial statements, reporting packs, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review balance sheet, bank, intercompany, and subledger reconciliations; investigate and resolve items.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and improvements to finance processes.

The Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting will be a full-time role and will be part of the Indonesia Finance Team.

Location

Based in our offices in Batam, Indonesia.

Overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will lead accurate and timely financial reporting for the Indonesian entities, support month-end and year-end close, perform high-quality financial analysis and complex account reconciliations, strengthen financial controls, and coordinate audit requirements. The role requires advanced Excel capability, strong analytical and technical accounting skills, and prior external or internal audit experience.

Key Responsibilities

Financial reporting and close

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany balances.
• Prepare management accounts, statutory financial statements, reporting packs, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review balance sheet, bank, intercompany, and subledger reconciliations. Investigate and resolve outstanding items.
• Analyse actual results against budgets and forecasts, identify key trends and variances, and provide clear recommendations.

Cost Analysis & Control

• Monitor project expenditure, analyse cost variances, and support adherence to approved budgets.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to update project forecasts monthly.
• Conduct cost audits to verify compliance with internal procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable

Excel analysis and reporting

• Build and improve Excel reports and models using advanced formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, and data validation.
• Automate recurring reports and reconciliations and maintain accurate, well-controlled data.

Audit, controls, and compliance

• Coordinate audit schedules, supporting documents, and responses to audit queries.
• Maintain strong accounting controls and support compliance with statutory, tax, and Group requirements.

Business support and improvement

• Work with finance and operational teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial information.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and improvements to finance processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Financial reporting, project control especially in construction.
• Experience with Indonesia, international or APAC projects
• Experience working with industry-standard costs estimating software and tools to perform accurate cost calculations and produce detailed reports.
• Excellent financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, and provide insights for decision-making
