Job summary

Melbourne Water is seeking a Manager WTP Process Improvement to lead a technical team responsible for the performance, compliance and continuous improvement of Western Treatment Plant processes.

Reporting to the Head of WTP, you will oversee treatment quality, asset performance, by-products and emissions, while guiding risk management and stakeholder engagement with regulators and partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive people leadership experience.
• Strong process engineering experience in water, wastewater or a related field.
• Experience operating in a highly regulated environment with regulators.
• Familiarity with management systems including Quality, Environment, HACCP and Safety.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse team of technical professionals.
• Provide technical leadership over WTP treatment performance, including inflows, quality, quantity and compliance.
• Lead continuous improvement and risk management initiatives to optimise performance and cost.
• Oversee key treatment processes and by-products, including trade waste, recycled water and emissions.
• Provide strategic input into current and future process and asset requirements.
• Support commissioning, integration and operational readiness of new/ upgraded assets.
• Build relationships with regulators, industry partners and internal stakeholders.
