Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited is seeking a Plant Process Engineer/Senior to lead design of P&IDs, PFDs, and energy balances for municipal water or sewage projects in Hong Kong. You will review calculations for equipment sizing, supervise operations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and government departments.

The role requires a HKIE corporate member or equivalent, a chemical/process/environmental/civil/mechanical engineering degree, and 2–15+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Process, Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Corporate Member of HKIE or equivalent qualification recognised by the HKIE.
• 2 to 15+ years of experience in plant/process engineering.
• Experience with design and commissioning of water/sewage treatment facilities.
• Knowledge of biological treatment (MBR), RO and related processes preferred.
• Direct exposure to DSD/EPD/WSD interfaces is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and review P&IDs, PFDs, mass and energy balances; include equipment sizing calculations.
• Oversee operations and commissioning tests, monitor performance and address defects.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil teams; manage contracts and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with government environmental standards and safety reviews (HAZOP/SIL).
• Engage with government departments (DSD/EPD/WSD) to resolve interfaces.
• Advise on project governance, risk management, and documentation.
• Provide expertise in water treatment plant projects.
