Job summary

aimHigher Consultancy Limited seeks a Watchmaker/Technical Advisor for a global tier1 watch brand in Hong Kong. The role covers authentication, valuation, maintenance and sales of pre-owned watches, with a focus on precise horology knowledge and exceptional client service.

You will train boutique staff, support marketing initiatives and lead watchmaking masterclasses to showcase craftsmanship while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) with strong written and verbal skills.
• Extensive experience authenticating, servicing, and repairing watches is highly preferred.
• Experience in boutique sales support and client relationship management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee authentication, valuation, maintenance and sale of pre-owned watches.
• Provide on-floor support to sales teams and educate boutique staff on movements and materials.
• Build and maintain client relationships using CRM tools; stay updated on market trends.
• Lead watchmaking masterclasses and contribute to client events and experiences.

Watchmaker/ Technical Advisor - Global Tier1 Watch Brand

Our client is a renowned global leading watch brand with stable revenue history.As they embark on an exciting expansion plan and launching pre-owned business, they are looking for passionate Watchmaker and Client Service Advisor to join their team.

Responsibilities

This critical position oversees the entire pre-owned watch lifecycle, encompassing authentication, valuation, maintenance, and sales.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of horology, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong awareness of market trends to uphold the integrity and success of our pre-owned business.

Provide essential support to the sales team on the floor.

Cultivate and maintain client relationships, effectively utilizing CRM tools.

Stay updated on the company’s history, product offerings, competitive positioning, and overall market dynamics.

Train boutique staff on movement characteristics and materials to boost their confidence and expertise.

Client Experience and Marketing Support

Participate in marketing initiatives and events, sharing technical insights to enhance client engagement.

Lead watchmaking masterclasses to highlight the intricacies of our craft.

Contribute ideas and perspectives to help develop future client experiences and events.

Authentication & Appraisal

Conduct meticulous inspections, authentication, and valuation of pre-owned watches submitted for sale or trade.

Disassemble movements when necessary to verify authenticity and evaluate internal condition.

Deliver accurate and fair market-based valuations, clearly communicating the rationale to clients.

Stay informed about market trends, auction results, and industry developments to ensure competitive valuations.

Maintenance & Servicing

Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and minor repairs on pre-owned timepieces to meet quality standards for resale.

Conduct quality control checks on all pre-owned watches prior to presentation for sale.

Collaborate with the central workshop for more complex repairs.

Serve as the expert consultant for clients interested in the pre-owned collection.

Passionately articulate the value, history, and technical details of each timepiece.

Build strong, trusting relationships with clients, ensuring a professional and informative experience.

Meet individual and team sales targets for the pre-owned segment.

Requirements

Education in Watchmaking is a plus

Sales Associate with In Boutique Technician experience will also be considered.

Extensive and proven experience in authenticating, servicing, and repairing watches is a plus

Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin), with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
