Job summary

Gravitas Recruitment Group (Hong Kong) Limited seeks a VP/AVP for DCM Origination & Execution within its Investment Banking division in Hong Kong. The role offers end-to-end ownership of major bond underwriting projects, with leadership responsibilities and exposure to ESG/green debt advisory opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of DCM experience, international exposure, and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of DCM experience in investment banking.
• International exposure of at least 2 years in HK or overseas is advantageous.
• Experience in credit rating advisory or green/ESG debt advisory is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Chinese; Mandarin required; Cantonese advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end execution for major bond underwriting projects, including structuring, documentation, pricing, and roadshow organization.
• Monitor global debt markets and provide real-time market intelligence and strategic issuance timing advice.
• Support business development and manage relationships with corporate issuers, institutional investors, and market stakeholders.
• Contribute to ESG/green debt advisory and credit rating advisory initiatives.
• Provide daily guidance, review work products, and develop junior team members.
• Undertake additional strategic initiatives as directed by leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution: Drive end-to-end execution for major bond underwriting projects, including transaction structuring, documentation, pricing, and independent roadshow organization.

Market Advisory: Monitor global debt markets, deliver real-time market intelligence to clients, and provide strategic advice on optimal issuance timing and pricing dynamics.

Client & Investor Relations: Support business development and manage strong, long-term relationships with corporate issuers, institutional investors, and key market stakeholders.

Specialized Advisory: Contribute to ESG/green bond initiatives and assist issuers with credit rating strategy and advisory processes.

Team Leadership: Provide daily guidance, review work products, and foster professional development for junior team members.

Ad-Hoc Projects: Undertake additional strategic initiatives and assignments as directed by team leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of DCM experience within investment banking. Strong background in the Chinese offshore DCM market is highly preferred.

International Exposure: At least 2 years of full-time work experience in Hong Kong or overseas is an advantage.

Specialist Skills: Prior experience in credit rating advisory or green/ESG debt advisory is a strong plus.

Soft Skills: Highly presentable, collaborative, and driven with excellent communication skills.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Language Skills: Professional proficiency in written English and Chinese. Fluency in spoken English and Mandarin is mandatory; Cantonese is a strong advantage.
