Job summary

Valuable Capital Limited is seeking an experienced Head of Settlement Department to lead day-to-day Middle Office functions, ensuring accurate trade capture, affirmation, allocation, and reconciliation while acting as the key liaison for Front Office traders, prime brokers, and custodians. You will drive risk management, SOPs, and regulatory alignment across desks.

The role requires a strong background in finance with 8+ years in Middle Office/Operations or Risk Management, including 3–5 years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/economics/related field; MBA or CFA/FRM preferred.
• 8+ years in Middle Office, Operations, or Risk Management; 3–5 years in leadership.
• Experience across equities, fixed income, FX, OTC/listed derivatives, private credit.
• Proficiency with trading/operations platforms and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Middle Office functions: trade capture, affirmation, confirmation, allocation, and reconciliation.
• Serve as primary liaison for Front Office, prime brokers, and custodians to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure valuation inputs, corporate actions monitoring, and P&L tracking.
• Develop and enforce SOPs and operational risk frameworks.
• Monitor portfolio limits and counterparty exposures; manage lifecycle exceptions.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Audit to ensure regulatory alignment.

Job description

Oversee day-to-day Middle Office functions, including trade capture, affirmation/confirmation, trade allocation, exception management, and position reconciliation.

Serve as the primary operational liaison for Front Office traders, portfolio managers, prime brokers, and custodian banks to resolve complex trade execution or booking discrepancies.

Ensure accurate and timely valuation inputs, corporate actions monitoring, and performance/p&l tracking support.

Develop, enhance, and enforce operational risk frameworks, control mechanisms, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Monitor portfolio limits, counterparty exposures, and trade lifecycle exceptions to minimize operational losses.

Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure full alignment with regulatory mandates.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Operations Research, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) preferred.

At least 8 years of financial services experience within Middle Office, Operations, or Risk Management roles, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or team-lead capacity.

Extensive familiarity with a broad range of asset classes (e.g., Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, OTC & Listed Derivatives, Private Credit).

Proficiency with trading and operations platforms and advanced data/analytics tools.
