Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business or related discipline.
• 8–10 years in banking/financial sector with data governance, data quality, technology or business operations experience.
• Extensive expertise in data governance including regulatory landscapes.
• Understanding of privacy, protection, quality, metadata and master data management.
• Proven track record building bank-wide data community across functions.
• Experience with Big Data platforms and ETL tools is an advantage.
• Ability to engage and present to senior executives on data strategy and risk.

Job description

Vice President, Data Office (Data Governance)

Define data strategy, establish and ensure adherence to the bank’s data governance framework for data policies, standards, governance metrics, processes and data architecture

Drive adoption of data governance framework and policy across the Bank, embedding industry best practices and regulatory requirements for all jurisdictions the Bank operates in

Build and lead a bank-wide data community, establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across business and technology teams

Drive data quality controls in the data origination processes across the bank

Lead the design and roll-out of data management tools, partnering with data owners and data stewards to drive effective adoption across the Bank

Own the definition of data quality control indicators, lead ongoing monitoring, escalation and remediation of bank-wide data quality issues

Present data governance strategies, initiatives and risk updates to executive governance committees

Champion data culture uplift across the whole bank

Own data-related regulatory compliance risk protection for the Bank

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or above in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business or other relevant discipline.

Background in data governance, data quality, technology or business operations, with a minimum of 8 to10 years of relevant working experience in banking or equivalent financial sector environment

Extensive expertise in data governance discipline, including financial industry best practices and cross jurisdictional regulatory landscapes

Sound understanding of data management disciplines: data privacy, data protection, data quality, metadata and master data management, or analytics governance within large-scare organization.

Proven track record building and sustaining a bank wide data community across business and technology functions

Working experience with Big Data platforms and ETL tools is an advantage

Experience developing governance guidelines, procedural documentation and executive level presentation materials

Ability to engage and present to senior executives and key decision makers on data related strategic and risk matters
