Director/VP/Head of Data Solutions, Data Analytics & Data Enablement (Bank)

Core Purpose: Act as a prominent user-facing bridge between business teams and technical data platforms. In this role, you will work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, guide effective data mart utilization, build complex executive dashboards, and drive bank-wide Data & AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Requirement Gathering & Data Mart Development: Partner closely with internal users to understand business needs, collect requirement specifications, and translate them into custom data marts, data tags, and structured data onboarding plans.

User Enablement & Data Services: Educate and guide business teams on how to effectively utilize data marts and self-service analytics. Serve as a domain advisor - when users request specific datasets (e.g., investment data), identify source systems, extract, prepare, and deliver the necessary data assets.

Executive Dashboards & Advanced Analytics: Design, build, and oversee high-impact, complex management dashboards and timely analytical reporting for senior executives and business heads.

Data & AI Use Cases: Partner with business and AI teams to deliver practical AI-ready datasets, discover trend patterns, and operationalize high-value data use cases across multiple banking divisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & IT Bridge: Interface between business users, Data Governance teams, and IT Data Platform teams. Oversee data mapping, testing (UAT), and system checks across Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and Core Banking architecture.

Stakeholder & People Management: Lead and mentor a team of business and data analysts. Actively manage stakeholder expectations, handle competing requests, and prioritize resource allocation effectively across bank-wide projects.

Governance & Compliance: Maintain robust access controls, risk protocols, and data quality standards in full alignment with internal policies and financial regulatory guidelines.

Ideal Candidate Profile & Key Requirements

10+ years of progressive experience in Data Management, Business Analytics, or Data Warehousing within financial institutions.

5+ years in a people management or leadership role.

Preferred Career Path: Strong preference for candidates who started their careers as Business Analysts or have a background in Business, Risk, or Compliance analytics.

Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial banking operations, with strong expertise in Wholesale Banking, as well as familiarity with Personal and Private Banking domain data.

Technical & Platform Capabilities:

Practical expertise in data engineering, data mapping, ETL workflows, and building data marts.

Hands‑on proficiency in visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for senior management reporting.

Familiarity with modern data architectures including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, streaming (Kafka), orchestration (Airflow, dbt), and Cloud environments (GCP/AWS).

Soft Skills:

Exceptional user-facing and stakeholder management skills; proven capability to set clear expectations and prioritize workload under pressure.

Strong business acumen and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Languages: Full professional fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
