Job summary
WORMS Safety in Hong Kong is seeking a Toy Laboratory Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) to join the Hardlines – Toy Lab. You will help expand testing capabilities by establishing, executing, and securing ISO 17025 accreditation for EN 62115 while supporting existing toy testing activities.
The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of hands-on toy testing experience, a degree in engineering, and familiarity with ISO 17025 and CNAS/HOKLAS processes.

Responsibilities
- Set up and perform safety testing for electric toys per EN 62115 and relevant standards.
- Draft SOPs and maintain testing documentation.
- Provide validation data and support accreditation activities.
- Operate and calibrate electrical testing equipment and maintain test records.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of lab efficiency and quality control.
- Handle ad-hoc lab duties as assigned.

WORMS Safety is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Toy Laboratory Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) to join the Hardlines – Toy Lab in Hong Kong. In this role, you will play a key part in expanding testing capabilities by establishing, executing, and securing ISO 17025 accreditation for EN 62115, while supporting existing mechanical toy testing activities.
- Set up and perform safety testing for electric toys in strict accordance with EN 62115 and other relevant international standards, including drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Handle samples and conduct physical and mechanical tests on toys according to international safety requirements
- Support Toy Lab Assistant Manager and Lab Manager in preparing validation data, uncertainty budgets, and technical documentation for HOKLAS/CNAS accreditation
- Operate, maintain, and perform daily checks and basic calibration on electrical testing equipment
- Maintain, record and archive testing-related quality activities and raw data as required by the Quality Manual and testing procedures
- Report testing failures, equipment malfunctions, and any quality deviations promptly to Senior Engineer / Toy Lab Assistant Manager / Quality Manager
- Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory testing efficiency and quality control processes
- Perform other ad‑hoc laboratory duties as assigned by Senior Engineer, Toy Lab Assistant Manager, or Hardlines Lab Manager
- Higher Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in toy testing, with a strong focus on EN 62115 (Electric Toys – Safety)
- Experience with ISO 17025 quality systems and HOKLAS/CNAS accreditation processes is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of electrical safety concepts (e.g. heating/temperature rise, moisture resistance, electric strength, abnormal operation/locked-rotor, battery compartment captive screw requirements)
- Familiarity with electrical measurement instruments and test equipment
- Good command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and commitment to laboratory quality standards
