Job summary

St John Hospital in the Hong Kong Island Cluster is seeking a Temporary Part-time Patient Care Assistant II to support Allied Health services. You will assist in preparing treatment programs, patient monitoring, and equipment setup.

The role offers hourly pay of HK$118.87, with on-site duties and on-the-job training for eligible applicants. Applicants must meet entry requirements and may undergo six months of training; employment may be extended based on service needs.

Qualifications

• Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent.
• Completion of structured departmental training.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Holding certificate(s) of health care related training or possessing working experience in health care settings.
• Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Chinese word processing and simple multimedia programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist various Allied Health colleagues to prepare and carry out treatment programs, group activities and educational activities for patients.
• Assist in providing patient care services, observation, monitoring of patient’s general condition in order to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Assist Allied Health colleagues in setting up and assembly of equipment and prepare patients for assessment and treatment.
• Assist in transfer of patients, including transfer of patients to wards as necessary.
• Teach and supervise patients in related skills during therapeutic activities.
• Carry out specific patient assessments, activities and rehabilitation groups in wards or departments.
• Prepare, maintain, clean and sterilize therapeutic equipment tools, materials, consumable and treatment area.
• Provide administrative and clerical support for daily operation of the service including manage patient record, data and compile service statistics.
• Handle patient registration, appointment booking, enquiry and make telephone follow-up.
• Perform procedures and maintain documentation to comply with the requirement for quality, safety, occupational health & environmental protection.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
