Job summary

The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd is seeking a skilled technician to support workshops and field teams in Ap Lei Chau. You will assist in testing and refurbishment of electrical equipment, monitor vehicle conditions, and input daily workshop documentation.

The role requires a Higher Diploma/Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and a Green Card safety training certificate. A Class 1 driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
• Completion of recognized technician / apprenticeship training in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering preferred
• Good knowledge of power system
• Basic knowledge of vehicles and computer skills
• Holder of a valid Green card safety training
• Holder of a valid Class 1 driving licence
• Holder of Registered Electrical Worker (A0) an advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Reporting to the Chief Engineering Co-ordination Engineer, the appointee will mainly perform the following responsibilities:

• To assist in testing isolator, switchgears, transformers, equipment and instruments
• To assist in supervising tradesmen and contractors during the refurbishment of isolator, switchgears and transformers
• To assist in checking the condition of company vehicles
• To assist in inputting of daily workshop documentation
• To handle any other relevant responsibilities or functions of workshop as assigned

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
• Completion of recognized technician / apprenticeship training in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering preferred
• Good knowledge of power system
• Basic knowledge of vehicles and computer skills
• Holder of a valid certificate of mandatory basic safety training, i.e. Green card
• Holder of a valid driving licence for Class 1 vehicles
• Holder of Registered Electrical Worker (A0) an advantage
