Job summary

The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd is seeking an Assistant Engineer (Ref: TND-OP-AE-OP-JD) in North Point to support round-the-clock operations and restore supply promptly. The appointee will handle alarms, test HV equipment, and assist engineers in supervising contractors.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Engineer (Shift Operations), the role involves coordinating with field teams to ensure safe, reliable power delivery and timely fault restoration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines with qualifications leading to Corporate Member of HKIE.
• Grade A Registered Electrical Worker (REW) and holder of a valid driving license for Class 1 vehicle an advantage.
• Good command of English and Chinese languages, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide round-the-clock operational services and restore supply to customers promptly and safely after supply interruption.
• Handle power system alarms and emergency service calls, repair faulty equipment efficiently, restore supply security promptly and carry out tests on high voltage apparatus in the distribution system.
