Job summary

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites a proactive Technical Officer to support the development and enhancement of our laboratory services and facilities. You will oversee the full lifecycle from planning and design through deployment, ensuring safety, compliance, and readiness for advanced research and teaching.

Working with diverse stakeholders, you will coordinate lab projects, assist in tender documentation, procurement, asset management, and quality assurance,

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience for Degree holders; 6+ years for Higher Diploma holders.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment or lab facility workflows preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication skills; able to work in English and Chinese.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and design of laboratory services, processes and infrastructure.
• Help design and set up new/renovated lab environments (wet, dry, computational).
• Create and maintain tender specifications, service standards and SOPs.
