Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club IT Division seeks an experienced CIAM Platform Engineer to maintain and enhance the Customer Identity and Access Management system. You will prevent incidents, deploy hotfixes, and draft release documentation while working with Shenzhen teams and Operations to ensure high availability.

The role requires 5–8 years in software development, strong Java skills, and proficiency with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker, ArgoCD), plus SQL, LDAP and JSON expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in software development, system integration and support.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Docker, ArgoCD).
• Java development mandatory; experience with Perl, JavaScript or Groovy is required.
• SQL, LDAP and JSON formatting experience.
• Knowledge of modern identity protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, PKCE).

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the CIAM platform.
• Proactively review error messages to prevent incidents and deploy hotfixes.
• Prepare release documentation for hotfixes and releases.
• Coordinate with QA/testing teams to ensure adequate test scope for releases.
• Triaging and troubleshooting CIAM platform issues.
• Participate in 24x7 support roster.
• Collaborate with Shenzhen development teams and Infrastructure/Operations to deliver high-quality systems.

About the Role

The role sits within the IT Division of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and supports the Club's Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platform. The post-holder maintains the platform, proactively prevents incidents, prepares hotfixes and release documentation, and triages and troubleshoots platform issues. The role involves close collaboration with Shenzhen development teams, System Assurance, Infrastructure and Operations teams, and participation in a support duty roster providing 24x7 coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the existing Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platform
• Proactively avoid incidents by reviewing and acting on error messages from the CIAM platform and dependent services
• Prepare hotfixes and release documentation to rectify bugs and defects
• Coordinate with the System Assurance (Testing) team to ensure that adequate testing scope is performed for hotfix releases
• Triage and troubleshoot CIAM platform issues
• Participate in the support duty roster for 24x7 support coverage
• Work closely with Shenzhen development teams, System Assurance, Infrastructure and Operations teams to deliver high-quality systems

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in software development, system integration and support
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker and ArgoCD
• Programming and development skills in Java (mandatory) and at least one of Perl, JavaScript or Groovy
• Operational fluency in creating SQL queries, LDAP search queries and JSON file formatting
• Working knowledge of modern identity protocols and authentication and authorisation standards, such as OAuth2, OIDC and PKCE

Preferred Skills

• ITIL certification or equivalent knowledge is preferred
