Job summary

French International School in Hong Kong is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the International Primary Stream from December 2026 to June 2027, with a contract renewable.

You will assist class teachers, support learning activities, maintain positive relationships with students and parents, supervise lunch and break times, and help prepare learning resources. Fluency in English and a teaching qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Knowledge and experience of Primary would be an advantage.
• Having a teaching qualification would be an advantage.
• Legally permitted to work in Hong Kong.
• Full-time position: 30 hours weekly, term-time only.
• Priority given to applicants with a Teaching Assistant diploma or background.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the education, personal and social development of the children by providing support to class teachers, or other staff, as per school policies.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, children and parents.
• Work with and assist groups of children under the supervision of the class teacher.
• Record observations of children’s progress and behavior under the supervision of the class teacher.

About the French International School

Established in 1963, the French International School (FIS) is the oldest international school in Hong Kong and was the first school in Hong Kong to offer the IB (in 1988). It is a dynamic educational institution, which welcomes over 3,000 students from around the world. It offers both French and international curricula and is one of the largest French schools in Asia.

FIS currently operates four campuses, all of which accommodates students from both streams. Regarding the three primary schools, one is surrounded by greenery in Jardine’s Lookout and another campus is by the sea in Tseung Kwan O and the third is a beautiful campus in Chai Wan

Requirements

Skills:

• Well-developed interpersonal skills;
• Confidence and skills in Maths and English;

• Understanding the need for tact and confidentiality in work withyoung children;
• Ability to work independently.
• Legally permitted to work in Hong Kong.

Full-time position working 30 hours weekly, term time only (with occasional need for after-school preparation for specific events) and will be able to enjoy all school holidays.
