About the French International School

Established in 1963, the French International School (FIS) is the oldest international school in Hong Kong and was the first school in Hong Kong to offer the IB (in 1988). It is a dynamic educational institution, which welcomes over 3,000 students from around the world. It offers both French and international curricula and is one of the largest French schools in Asia.

FIS currently operates four campuses, all of which accommodates students from both streams. Regarding the three primary schools, one is surrounded by greenery in Jardine’s Lookout and another campus is by the sea in Tseung Kwan O and the third is a beautiful campus in Chai Wan

FIS is a private, not-for-profit organization. In the last five decades, it has grown from a small school with 35 students to one of the most renowned international schools in the region. FIS operates two streams, French and International. The French Stream follows the French national curriculum and has approximately 1700 students. The International Stream follows an English and Mathematics curriculum based on the English national curriculum and also the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC)and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) leading to the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) in years 7 and 8, then to IGCSE and finally the International Baccalaureate in Years 12 and 13. It currently has over 1000 students registered. In 2020/21 the international stream successfully went through the IEYC/IPC Accreditation process.

T heSecondary school stretches across two campuses which are conveniently locatedvery close to each other. One located in UpperHappy Valley at Blue Pool Road and another at Jardine’s Lookout andaccommodates over 900 students from both streams. The International Streamfollows a IPC/IEYC thematic curriculum in its Primary section, leading to IMYCin years 7-9, Cambridge IGCSE subjects in years 10 & 11 before thepre-University International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in years 12 and13. It currently has approx. 1300 students registered.

Anexciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher of Mathematics and Science atFIS.We are seeking an inspirational andenergetic person to teach in the Secondary Middle school. The successfulcandidate will have a proven track record of academic success, innovation anddevelopment throughout their career.

Thisis a period of growth for the Secondary section of the International Stream,with extra classes that joined us from August 2026. Our junior classes take aMathematics course which is planned thematically following the IMYC guidelines.IGCSE students all take the International Mathematics course from CAIE, withthe more able also sitting for the Additional Mathematics examination.IGCSE students all take at least one, and upto three Sciences from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. At IB level, the schooloffers both Applications & Interpretation and Analysis & Approachescourses at HL and SL for Mathematics and offers Physics, Chemistry, Biology& Computer Science at HL and SL, as well as ESS at SL only.
