About the French International School

Established in 1963, the French International School (FIS) is the oldest international school in Hong Kong and was the first school in Hong Kong to offer the IB (in 1988). It is a dynamic educational institution, which welcomes over 3,000 students from around the world. It offers both French and international curricula and is one of the largest French schools in Asia.

FIS currently operates four campuses, all of which accommodates students from both streams. Regarding the three primary schools, one is surrounded by greenery in Jardine’s Lookout and another campus is by the sea in Tseung Kwan O and the third is a beautiful campus in Chai Wan

FIS is a private, not-for-profit organization. In the last five decades, it has grown from a small school with 35 students to one of the most renowned international schools in the region. Its students are from 50 countries speaking some 30 languages – it is a truly multicultural learning environment.

FIS operates two streams, French and International. The French Stream follows the French national curriculum and has approximately 1700 students. The International Stream follows an English and Mathematics curriculum based on the English national curriculum and also the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC)and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) leading to the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) in years 7 and 8, then to IGCSE and finally the International Baccalaureate in Years 12 and 13. It currently has over 1000 students registered. In 2020/21 the international stream successfully went through the IEYC/IPC Accreditation process.

FIS isseeking a Vie Scolaire Coordinator/Student Services for our Chai Wan campus. Within the Vie Scolaire Department and under the authority of thePrincipal, the Vie Scolaire Coordinator/Student Services supports FIS's generalpolicy of contributing to the success and well-being of its students.

You will be responsible for the educationalsupervision and monitoring of Kindergarten and Primary students from both theFrench and International streams on the Chai Wan campus.

General Duties and Activities

• Act as the primary point of contact between FIS and families by maintaining fluid communication.
• Welcome and supervise students upon arrival, during non-class hours, and at departure.
• Manage administrative follow-up for students: recording absences and lateness, updating class lists, etc.
• Supervise Student Supervisors: recruit and onboard, manage schedules, monitor payroll, and provide day-to-day supervision.
• Participate and proactively propose ideas for any educational activity or school life project for both streams.
• Report to management.
• Collaborate with colleagues (maintenance, management, communication, etc.).
• Act as a liaison for teachers in case of absence
• Collaborate closely with the health team to monitor health protocols and Individualised Care Plans.
• Supervise the organisation and conduct of recesses, the canteen, and buses (problem-solving and reframing/re-establishing boundaries if necessary).
• Support the production of evacuation reports and take an active role in school evacuation procedures
• Support the cross-stream #OneFIS approach in all areas of school life
• Attend campus meetings to ensure the effectivemanagementof Vie Scolaire for both French and International Streams

Requirements

• Fluency in English, spoken and written, is essential; French is a plus. Mandarin is also a plus
