Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive procurement strategies for various categories of goods and services, aligning with Hitachi's global supply chain objectives.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes, ensuring favorable terms, quality, and delivery performance.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and legal teams to understand procurement needs and ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions and geopolitical factors.
• Monitor and analyze procurement metrics, identifying trends, and reporting on key performance indicators to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management and procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role, preferably within a large multinational corporation.
• Proven track record of successful negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics, logistics, and international trade regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic procurement plans that deliver measurable results.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in Japanese or other relevant languages is a plus.
