Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an analytical Purchasing Manager - Commodity Sourcing (IC) to lead strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and supply-chain resilience for core active components portfolio.

You will evaluate and execute end-to-end commodity strategies across ICs, memory chips, SoCs, and camera modules, streamline sourcing pipelines, identify supply vulnerabilities, and negotiate competitive terms with semiconductor manufacturers, distributors, and EMS partners to safeguard continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of strategic sourcing experience, with at least 4+ years dedicated to IC/semiconductor sourcing.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin to liaise with global teams and partners.
• Proficient with SAP/Oracle ERP systems and advanced Excel/data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute commodity sourcing plans for active components (ICs, DRAM/NAND, SoCs, sensors, and camera modules).
• Conduct structured cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and quarterly business reviews; drive multi-round negotiations for pricing, allocation, and rebates.
• Monitor semiconductor market trends, lead times, and obsolescence risks; develop dual-sourcing and buffer strategies to prevent disruptions.
• Oversee supplier qualification, contract lifecycle, and performance metrics; partner with tier-1 EMS/foundry vendors and global distributors for supply continuity.
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Component Engineering, and Supply Planning to drive early supplier involvement and qualify alternate second-source ICs.
