Job summary

SMBC Group in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Corporate Banking Relationship Manager to manage and deepen client relationships while identifying new business opportunities to expand profitability and ROE.

You will originate and deliver a broad range of banking solutions, coordinate with regional offices, and partner with credit teams to ensure compliant risk management while delivering value-added advisory in English and Chinese for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline.
• Approximately 10 years of relevant corporate banking experience; junior VP level considered with less.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, or CPA are desirable.
• Strong client relationship management skills with a customer-centric mindset and business development capabilities.
• Ability to analyze complex financial information and assess business and credit opportunities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent presentation and report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
• Self-motivated, results-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deepen relationships with corporate clients and develop new opportunities.
• Formulate and execute relationship and account plans with revenue and ROE targets.
• Originate and deliver a broad range of banking solutions across SMBC's platform with product specialists.
• Collaborate with overseas branches and SMBC entities for integrated client coverage.
• Drive cross-selling across financing, transaction banking, treasury, capital markets, and advisory products.
• Lead transaction execution coordinating with stakeholders for timely delivery.
• Partner with Credit & Investment on credit-related matters, including structuring and monitoring.
• Maintain awareness of market dynamics and regulatory developments to provide value-added advice.
