Job summary

RGA is seeking a seasoned full‑stack engineer to join our multinational tech team in Hong Kong. You will architect and deliver API-based applications with a cloud-first approach, mentor teammates, and drive quality improvements across the stack.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in multiple programming languages, containerization, and modern deployment practices, with a track record in insurance/reinsurance tech.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in CS or equivalent experience.
• MA/MS and/or LOMA certification preferred.
• 10+ years software development experience.
• 8+ years insurance/reinsurance domain knowledge.
• Experience with various database technologies.
• Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud providers.
• Proficiency across full‑stack tools (frontend, databases, deployments).
• Proficiency in multiple general programming languages.
• Proficiency in Test-Driven Development.
• Proficiency in containerization.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Familiar with JavaScript, Java, Groovy, Go, C#, Python, NodeJS, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL.

Responsibilities

• Technical leader for a product and handles the most complex issues.
• Leads design, development, testing, deployments and support of API-based systems with cloud-first emphasis.
• Provides team members with industry/product knowledge.
• Mentors and coaches teammates.
• Seeks continuous quality improvements for supported products.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
