Job summary

Nomura is seeking a Senior Cloud-Native Software Engineer in Hong Kong to join the HK Equity Risk IT team. You will drive cloud-native modernization for a front-office platform handling flow, structured, convertibles, and delta-one desks globally.

You will architect scalable systems on AWS and Kubernetes, build microservices for real-time pricing and risk calculations, and lead CI/CD automation while collaborating with regional and global teams to deliver low-latency trading workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in multi-language application development (JVM languages, Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, RDS, S3) and Kubernetes (Rancher).
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments (AWS and on-premises).
• Experience with multi-threaded and distributed architectures.
• Experience with messaging middleware (Pulsar, Solace, Kafka) and Redis.
• Basic understanding of P&L attribution and risk measures for Flow derivatives.
• Basic knowledge of equity derivatives, experience in relevant industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, resilient applications on AWS and Kubernetes (EKS/Rancher).
• Develop microservices and serverless components for real-time pricing and risk calculations.
• Optimize hybrid cloud deployments for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) for rapid, reliable deployments.
• Build proprietary compute infrastructure for derivatives pricing using C#, Go, Kotlin.
• Develop trading and pricing services (REST/Protobuf) with low-latency requirements.
• Collaborate on rich UI components (React/HTML5) for trader-facing applications.
• Support and guide global teams on new functionality and releases.
