Job summary

Louise in Central is seeking a skilled Sommelier across junior to senior levels and wine waiter roles for a full-time position. You will deliver exceptional beverage service, educate guests on wine selections, and collaborate with the dining team to enhance the dining experience.

Expertise in wines, strong customer service, and formal sommelier credentials are highly valued. Cantonese and Mandarin language skills are advantageous for guest interactions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sommelier in hospitality or similar role.
• Formal sommelier certification or equivalent; WSET preferred for sommeliers.
• Fluency in English is essential; Cantonese required and Mandarin desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide beverage recommendations and wine pairings tailored to guests’ preferences and the menu.
• Maintain knowledge of our wine list, spirits, and beverages (regions, producers, tasting profiles).
• Conduct tastings and educate guests about our selections with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Take beverage orders accurately and ensure proper storage, temperature, and service techniques.
• Serve wines and beverages to established hospitality standards and practices.
• Organise and present the beverage programme to ensure quality and availability; support mise en place before service.
• Monitor inventory levels and contribute to beverage cost control and stock rotation.
• Support the dining room team to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
