About the role

AVA Intelligent Partners Limited is seeking a Software Engineer (Node.js & React.js) to join our dynamic development team. This is a full-time position based in Wan Chai, where you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust web applications that drive our business forward. As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our technology initiatives, contributing to the development of scalable solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain web applications using Node.js for backend services and React.js for frontend interfaces
• Design and implement efficient APIs and server-side logic to support frontend functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance to ensure optimal user experience
• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and daily standups
• Collaborate on system architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision‑making
• Implement unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to full-stack development

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience with Node.js backend development with any framework
• Strong proficiency in React.js with experience building complex, interactive user interfaces
• Solid understanding of Typescript
• Experience with GraphQL
• Familiarity with Git
• Knowledge of RDBMS
• Understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and architectural concepts
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Preferred: Experience with the development of AI agents
• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure), containerisation technologies (Docker), or microservices architecture
• Preferred: Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Vitest
• Preferred: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
