Job summary

Smartdeer Services Centre is seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to design, develop, test, and launch core platforms across multiple regions and clients. You will own complex modules, drive reusable components, and collaborate with backend, product, data, and security teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in hiring, and contribute to engineering culture while exploring AI-assisted development to boost delivery

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering/frontend development experience.
• Experience leading R&D/frontend teams preferred.
• Experience delivering complex business systems.
• Experience building or evolving core business systems from 0 to 1.
• Strong bilingual communication in Chinese and English; English as working language.

Job description

Participate in the design, development, testing, and launch of the company's core business platforms and applications, supporting multi-region and multi-client business scenarios.

Own the implementation of complex business modules and user flows, and drive the accumulation of reusable components, component libraries, and frontend infrastructure.

Collaborate with backend, product, data, and security teams to translate business requirements into executable technical solutions.

Design reusable components, state management boundaries, and frontend engineering standards to improve delivery efficiency and consistency across multiple business lines.

Participate in technical solution reviews and architecture discussions, identify system risks, and propose improvement plans.

Mentor junior engineers and participate in hiring, talent development, and engineering culture building.

Explore engineering efficiency practices such as AI-assisted development to improve the team's overall delivery efficiency and quality.

About you

10+ years of software engineering/frontend development experience, with a background in large-scale internet or platform-based product development.

Experience in team management or as a technical lead; experience leading R&D/frontend teams is preferred.

Experience in delivering complex business systems.

Experience in building, refactoring, or continuously evolving core business systems from 0 to 1.

Ability to collaborate across teams and time zones, and drive complex projects to be delivered on time and with high quality.

Strong bilingual communication skills in Chinese and English; English can be used as a working language.

Willingness to travel occasionally outside Hong Kong.
