Job summary

Five Guys HK Limited is seeking a Shift Leader to supervise daily restaurant operations and train Crew Members, stepping in for the Restaurant Manager when needed.

You will ensure food preparation meets company standards, manage schedules, and help with safety compliance and onboarding. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of supervisory experience in food service or retail and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years supervisory experience in food service or retail required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business memos.
• Basic business math skills.
• Problem solving and decision-making skills; flexible and adaptable.
• Basic computer skills to operate POS systems.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift supplies.
• Exposure to hot equipment and oil.

Responsibilities

• Lead Crew Members and direct daily operations in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
• Supervise and train employees, open/close store, manage breaks and shift changes.
• Motivate and coach Crew Members; assist training of new Crew Members.
• Perform Crew Member tasks (runner, order taker, dining room attendant, grill operator, sandwich maker, fry station, drinks and cashier).
• Work as a team player to support other employees.
• Assist General Manager with scheduling, ordering, and team development.
• Ensure OSHA, health codes and company safety policies are followed.
• Maintain preventative maintenance for facility, equipment, and grounds.
• Assist General Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Crew Members.
• Maintain fast, accurate and outstanding service and ensure product consistency.
