Job summary

FWD Group in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Officer to Manager level for Life Operations – Underwriting. You will develop and implement underwriting frameworks and monitor New Business processing to ensure quality and SLA adherence.

The role requires a university degree and at least 4 years of underwriting experience in life and medical insurance, with strong analytical and communication skills, and fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• University graduate or above; professional insurance qualifications preferred (e.g., FLMI).
• Minimum 4 years solid experience in life and medical insurance underwriting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; self-motivated and team player.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to all levels.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement underwriting and operational framework, policies, procedure guidelines.
• Monitor the processing of New Business and underwriting to ensure SLA is met with good quality.
• Perform underwriting assessment on medical and non-medical cases within approval limits.
• Liaise with team leads in distribution channels to identify areas of improvement.
• Review and verify customer due diligence, AML and CTF duties in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain good business relationships with channels, e.g. agency, bancassurance, broker.
• Participate in UATs and ad-hoc projects.
