Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree; at least 6 years underwriting experience in life insurance with ≥2 years in a supervisory role.
• Underwriting medical authority of not less than extra mortality 50%; high net worth experience preferred.
• Strong integrity, quality orientation, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent English and Chinese communication; Putonghua helpful.
• Leadership and team-building capabilities.

Job description

• Contribute to the development of the underwriting core system, the underwriting rule engine and the point-of-sales platform;
• Collect and analyze information from an underwriting perspective to prepare user requirements.
• Manage project timelines and progress, and ensure the quality and timely delivery of assigned projects;
• Liaise with users, IT and vendors to design and enhance business solutions;
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and conduct end-user training. Support ad-hoc production issues;
• Analyzing underwriting data to identify trends, reporting findings and making data-driven recommendations for improvements;
• Perform underwriting risk assessments within the delegated authority limit to ensure accurate, fair, prompt and appropriate underwriting decisions. Ensure that assigned new business cases comply with the company's policy and procedures, underwriting guidelines and service pledge;
• Work closely with stakeholders, e.g. legal, compliance, IT, product, business development and reinsurers, to support the development and review of new initiatives;
• Others job assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree Holder; Minimum 6 years solid underwriting experience in life insurance with at least 2 years in a supervisory /managerial role; candidate with less experience will also be considered;
• Underwriting medical authority of not less than extra mortality 50%, with high net worth experience preferable;
• Good integrity, quality-oriented, good interpersonal and communications skills;
• A solutions thinker, strong analytical skills and independent;
• Open minded, flexible, proactive and stress positive;
• Good leadership and team building skills;
• Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) ;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua;
