Job summary

Ambit Geospatial Solution Limited seeks a hands-on Senior System Analyst to lead analysis, design and alignment of a large government IT project in Hong Kong. You will guide development, ensure compliance with government standards, and drive deliverables from requirements through production rollout.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in enterprise software and system analysis, strong Java EE experience, and proficiency in PostgreSQL, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of enterprise software development and system analysis.
• 2–3 years in a Senior SA or Lead SA role.
• Hands-on Java EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud and RESTful API design.
• Proficient PostgreSQL data modelling, SQL and performance tuning.

• Strong English and Cantonese; deliverables in English.

Senior System Analyst – Government IT Project (Full-time / 6 months Contract)

We are looking for a hands-on Senior System Analyst to lead system analysis & design and guide the development team on a large-scale government project, from requirements through to production rollout.

Upon satisfactory completion of the full employment period specified in this Contract, the Employee shall be entitled to a contract-end gratuity.

Key responsibilities

Lead requirements gathering, business workflow analysis and system design with government users.

Prepare key deliverables and drive them to sign-off in line with HKSARG standards (e.g. BRS / SRS, SA&D Report, SDS, Database Specification).

Translate business requirements into technical specifications, API designs and data models; oversee front‑end, back‑end and database design.

Guide developers and testers, run design and code reviews, and make sure the delivered system matches the approved design.

Chair project meetings and workshops, and follow up action items and change requests through to closure.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

5+ years of experience in enterprise software development and system analysis, including at least 2–3 years as a Senior SA or Lead SA.

Java: Solid hands‑on experience with Java EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud microservices and RESTful API design.

PostgreSQL: Proficient in relational data modelling, SQL and performance tuning.

Familiar with cloud deployment, containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes), Git and CI/CD.

Good written English and Chinese (deliverables are mainly in English); fluent Cantonese and good spoken English.

Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Preferred

Experience delivering HKSARG projects under SOA-QPS5 (Standing Offer Agreement for Quality Professional Services).

Experience with systems hosted on GCIS (Government Cloud Infrastructure Services).

Familiarity with government IT security and privacy practices (e.g.SRAA, PIA).
