OKX in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Payments team to design and operate high-scale payment infrastructure connecting OKX to dozens of global channels.

You’ll own end-to-end systems, drive reliability across cloud providers, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, design, and partner teams regionally.

This production-grade role offers exposure to a fast-moving crypto fintech landscape and a direct impact on how money moves for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software development experience.
• Experience building high-availability, large-scale applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-scale, 24/7 APIs and distributed payment services across cloud providers.
• Expand our global reach by integrating and scaling new payment channels across markets.
• Protect user assets with correctness, idempotency, reconciliation, and recoverability.
• Set the technical bar through design reviews and documentation.
• Solve complex distributed-systems challenges and drive to resolution.
• Collaborate with product, design, and partner teams to ship reliable systems.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Stay curious and keep pace with a fast-moving industry.
