Job summary

CPJobs International seeks a Resident Clerk of Works to supervise construction projects on-site in Hong Kong, reporting to the Consultant and coordinating with engineers and contractors.

The role requires a building studies qualification, 8 on-site HK experience, and language proficiency in English and Chinese; you will conduct inspections, monitor workmanship, and maintain site records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies or equivalent.
• 8 relevant on-site experience in Hong Kong as a RCOW or relevant construction management role.
• Language proficiency Level 2+ in English and Chinese (HKCEE/HKDSEE or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Supervise projects and perform Clerk of Works duties under the Consultant.
• Carry out routine inspections for conformity with drawings, specifications and contract requirements; report non-conforming work.
• Monitor workmanship against contract documents and relevant publications.
• Check samples and related documents against contract requirements and observe and recommend actions.
• Check setting out of building elements.
• Monitor progress of work on site against the approved programme.
• Manage supervisory staff, allocate duties and check attendance.
• Liaise and coordinate with other government departments and public utilities on site.
• Maintain site records and submit monthly returns.
• Monitor health and safety; report non-compliance and record in site book.
• Submit progress, technical, accident and special reports to the project team.
• Attend client and contractor progress meetings.
• Witness on-site and off-site tests and record results.
• Inspect defects and outstanding work at contract completion; advise on rectification status.
• Attend site audits and follow up corrective actions on non-compliance.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Consultant.
• The role will be seconded to the client and under client’s management.

Education
