Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Clerk of Works to join our on-site team in Hong Kong. You will conduct daily site inspections, ensure workmanship meets drawings, method statements and contractual requirements, and coordinate with contractors and consultants.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building/Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as Clerk of Works in A&A (Addition & Alteration) project.
• Strong communication skills, good attention to detail, and ability to work independently on-site.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced, high‑availability construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure work complies with architectural/structural drawings.
• Ensure all builders work adheres to contractual specifications, approved drawings, method statements, relevant regulations and SLA requirements.
• Ensure proper sequencing of works as per master programme.
• Document and report defects, non-compliant work, or deviations from specifications.
• Attend site meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Attend site inspections and monitor material quality and workmanship standards.
• Report construction progress, technical issues and risks to the Project Manager; support inspections, testing and handover.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports for the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors on builders work installation and performance on site.
• Ensure proper safety measures and document incidents and issues.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors for project execution and defect rectification.
• Provide information to facilitate valuation of works, progress claims, variations and cost assessments.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations and report unsafe practices or conditions.
