Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) is seeking an experienced system analyst to translate user requirements into technical design and drive development for Retail Banking systems.

You will implement enhancements, troubleshoot issues, guide an offshore team, and ensure delivery quality while supporting UAT and ongoing BAU tasks. A strong problem solver and effective communicator will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 5-8 years of experience in system analysis, design, development and implementation, preferably in banking or finance.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Maven, CSS, AngularJS, IBM WebSphere, MQ, MSSQL and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Retail Banking's Investment and Insurance products would be an advantage.
• Effective communications with all levels of organization and staff.
• Good team player, positive attitude, self-motivated, adaptive to changes and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements and transform to technical design.
• Implement or enhance system functionalities to fulfill business requirements from the Retail Banking sector.
• Troubleshoot problems and propose solutions; collaborate with developers and external parties for time-critical tasks.
• Manage an off-shore development team and provide guidance.
• Monitor development progress and perform code review to maintain quality of deliverables.
• Support UAT and system-wide BAU tasks.
• Provide 7x24 production support (by roster).
