Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited, on behalf of a reputable developer, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the QS department across HK, China and overseas projects. You will oversee cost estimates, budgets, cash flow, and contract administration to ensure profitable, compliant development.

The ideal candidate holds a QS-related degree, with 12+ years' experience including 3+ years in management, HKIS/RICS membership desirable, and strong leadership, negotiation, and communication

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Experience with Hong Kong property development projects is preferred.
• Professional membership (HKIS, RICS, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge in contract law and Hong Kong building regulations.
• Proficient with industry-standard QS software and MS Office.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the quantity surveying department, providing guidance, technical support, and performance review.
• Prepare and oversee cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for development projects.
• Monitor project costs and undertake cost control, value engineering, and risk management strategies.
• Administer contracts, including tendering, procurements, valuation of variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Liaise effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth procurement, contractual, and construction processes.
• Ensure compliance with Hong Kong building regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Provide timely financial and progress reports, highlighting any cost overruns or contractual issues.
• Assist in the negotiation and award of subcontracts and consultancy services.
• Conduct feasibility studies and assist in project planning and development stages.
• Implement and improve cost management procedures and best practices.
