Job summary

Currie & Brown Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing project team. The successful candidate will manage all commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects from pre-contract through final account settlement, including cost plans, tendering, contract administration and final accounts.

The role requires 5+ years of technical delivery experience, preferably with a global construction consultancy, and a Bachelor's degree in construction-related

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' technical delivery experience in a global construction consultancy.
• Bachelor's degree in construction-related disciplines or equivalent.
• Proficient in English and Chinese; strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to lead projects independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with tendering, cost plans, contracts and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quantity surveying services including cost plans, tender documents, contract administration and final accounts.
• Formulate tender strategies, tender analysis and bidding.
• Monitor cashflow, certify payments and variations.
• Prepare take-off documents, pricing and drawing measurements.
• Ensure QA standards and company best practices are followed.
• Lead and coach junior staff; liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Attend site inspections, client meetings and tender presentations when required.

Job Description

• Delivering quantity surveying services including preparing cost plans and tender documents, handling contract administration, sub-letting and preparing and negotiating final accounts
• Undertaking responsibility for formulating tender strategies, tender analysis and bidding
• Monitoring cashflow and certifying payment and variation
• Preparing material take-off documents, pricing, drawing measurements and checking of all tender material
• Complying with QA standards as well as the company's best practice
• Leading and coaching junior staff
• Collaborating and developing good relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Attending site inspections and client meetings and conducting tender interview presentations when required

Job Requirements

• MHKIS and RPS qualifications preferred
• Bachelor's degree, construction-related disciplines or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years' technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy, with exposure to multiple projects (applicants with less experience will be considered as QS, graduate applicants will be considered as AQS)
• Passionate about quantity surveying and furthering your career with a leading consultancy
• Good communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skills
• Ability to take the lead on projects independently
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong IT skills and high levels of numeracy and literacy
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
