Job summary

We+ Asia is seeking an experienced Python Developer to support a government-led initiative in Hong Kong on a 6-month project engagement. The role focuses on legacy system modernization and system upgrades, contributing to a broader digital transformation program.

You will develop, enhance, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python, refactor legacy code, and collaborate with analysts and other developers to ensure scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of experience in Python development.
• Solid understanding of modern software design principles and best practices.
• Proven experience in system upgrades, refactoring, or migration projects.
• Familiarity with API development, integration, and automation frameworks.
• Experience working in government or large enterprise environments is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python.
• Support the modernization of legacy systems through code refactoring and migration to modern frameworks.
• Collaborate with system analysts and other developers to ensure high-quality integration and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems for improved performance and reliability.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and contribute to ongoing system improvements.
• More than 5 years of experience in Python development.
