Job summary

IO Tech Solutions Limited, a Global Investment Firm in Hong Kong, seeks a Python Developer to join Risk Technology. You will own backend services, risk dashboards and data pipelines across APAC, collaborating with UK and US teams.

You will design, develop and maintain backend applications using Python, build APIs, and support post-trade risk and portfolio workflows. Strong ownership and hands-on delivery in a regional environment are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience within Financial Services.
• Strong hands-on software development experience with Python.
• Solid understanding of backend development, APIs, data processing and application architecture.
• Experience working with financial, trading, risk, portfolio or market data.
• Experience with databases, SQL and data pipelines.
• Buy-side / hedge fund experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with React or other frontend technologies is a plus, particularly for dashboard development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD, containers or modern development practices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications and internal technology solutions using Python.
• Build and enhance risk dashboards, monitoring tools and internal applications used by Risk and Investment stakeholders.
• Integrate and process data from multiple risk, trading and financial data pipelines to support regional monitoring and analysis.
• Develop reliable APIs, data services and backend components to support internal applications and reporting.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business and risk requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Support technology solutions covering post-trade activities, risk monitoring and portfolio/trading-related workflows.
• Investigate data issues, application problems and discrepancies across different systems and data sources.
• Improve the reliability, performance and usability of existing risk technology applications.
• Collaborate with global engineering and technology teams to deliver and support solutions used across the wider organization.
• Take ownership of the APAC technology environment and work independently while coordinating with global peers.
• Contribute to the development of new tools and automation that improve the efficiency of Risk and Investment teams.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment and production support.

Python Developer – Risk Technology | Global Investment Firm (HK/SG)

This is a hands-on technology role supporting Risk and Investment stakeholders across APAC. You'll be responsible for building and enhancing internal applications, dashboards and backend services that bring together data from different risk and trading pipelines.

The role offers strong ownership — you'll be the dedicated Risk Technology developer in APAC, working closely with local business stakeholders while collaborating with technology teams across the UK and US.
