Job summary

China Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to independently run all aspects of construction projects, from planning to closure, ensuring compliance with contract terms and client requirements.

You will coordinate with clients, government departments, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining clear communication, resolving disputes, and delivering projects on time and within budget with strong leadership and safety oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Corporate member of the HKIE or international member with reciprocal recognition.
  • At least 15 years post-qualification experience, with 5 years delivering public transport infrastructure.
  • Authorized Signatory (AS) for an RSC in Site Formation Works is highly preferred.
  • Strong PM skills including planning, organizing, coordinating, problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Good leadership to manage a team and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Familiar with HK construction safety regulations, quality standards and environmental requirements.
  • Proficient in project management software (P6, MS Project) and office software.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all aspects of construction projects from planning to closure.
  • Coordinate with clients, government departments, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders; maintain good communication and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans including schedules, budgets, quality and safety plans; monitor progress and address delays or cost overruns.
  • Oversee quality control, conduct regular inspections and audits to meet client standards and project specs.
  • Manage project costs, monitor budget execution, review payments, and ensure completion within approved budget.
  • Handle project changes, variations and claims per procedures and contract terms; ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Stay updated on regulations, standards and best practices; apply them to improve efficiency and quality.

Job description

Independently manage all aspects of construction projects, including project planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure, ensuring adherence to contract terms and project requirements.

Coordinate closely with the clients, government departments, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders, maintain good communication and relationships, and resolve any issues or disputes in a timely manner.

Develop and implement detailed project plans, including construction schedules, cost budgets, quality control plans and safety management plans, monitor project progress, and take corrective actions to address delays, cost overruns or quality issues.

Oversee project quality control, conduct regular quality inspections and audits, ensure construction works meet client's standards and project specifications, and resolve quality problems promptly.

Manage project costs, monitor budget execution, control expenses, review and approve payment applications, and ensure the project is completed within the approved budget.

Handle project changes, variations and claims in accordance with procedures and contract terms, ensure all changes are properly documented and approved.

Stay updated on the latest regulations, construction industry standards, technologies and best practices, and apply them to project management to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Corporate member of the HKIE or professional member of an international institution with reciprocal recognition agreement with the HKIE.
  • At least 15 years of post-professional qualification experience and amongst which 5 years of experience in delivering public transport infrastructure.
  • An Authorized Signatory (AS) for a Registered Specialist Contractor (RSC) in theSite Formation Works category is highly preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, including excellent planning, organizing, coordinating, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Good leadership skills, able to lead and motivate a team, and effectively manage subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in both written and spoken English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Familiar with Hong Kong construction safety regulations, quality standards and environmental requirements.
  • Proficient in using project management software (e.g., P6, Microsoft Project) and office software.
