Job summary

Leadingnation in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Project Engineer (R&D) to lead end‑to‑end design management of product performance, reliability, and manufacturability, from concept to production. You will collaborate across Design, Engineering, and Quality, manage external vendors, and influence stakeholders at all levels to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of design or project engineering experience, preferably in kitchenware/household.
• Proficiency in CAD and design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, CoreIDraw).
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin).
• Proactive with AI tools to streamline processes.

Responsibilities

• Design & Mechanism Innovation: Create mechanical structures, build 3D drawings, and develop innovative mechanisms within project limits while avoiding patent infringement.
• Design Management: Oversee full product design for performance, reliability, and manufacturability to uphold brand quality.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Bridge Design, Engineering, and Quality, while managing external vendors to resolve issues.
• Process Documentation: Develop process control plans, tolerance charts, operation sheets, tooling lists, and audit plans.
• Project Tracking: Manage multiple projects, ensure milestones, and complete debugging on schedule.
• Continuous Improvement: Develop metrics to optimize cost, quality, and cycle time; leverage AI to streamline tasks.
• Team Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior engineers across Hong Kong and China.

Position Overview

As a Senior Project Engineer (R&D), you will lead the full design management of product performance, reliability, and manufacturability from concept to production. We are looking for a resourceful, task-oriented engineer with a passion for consumer-focused product development who can seamlessly collaborate across teams, manage external vendors, and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Mechanism Innovation: Create mechanical structures for new product concepts, build 3D drawings, and develop innovative mechanisms within project limitations while avoiding patent infringement.
• Design Management: Oversee full product design for performance, reliability, and manufacturability to uphold strict brand quality standards.
• Cross-Functional Liaison: Bridge communication gaps between Design, Engineering, and Quality teams, while managing external vendors and suppliers to resolve process issues.
• Process Documentation: Coordinate project teams to develop process control plans, tolerance charts, operation sheets, tooling lists, and audit plans.
• Project Tracking: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring design milestones are met and engineering debugging is completed on schedule.
• Continuous Improvement: Develop metrics to optimize product cost, quality, and cycle time, while leveraging AI tools to streamline processes and automate routine tasks.
• Team Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior engineering team members across Hong Kong and China, fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 4-6 years of relevant design or project engineering experience, preferably within the kitchenware or household industry
• Proficiency in CAD, along with design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and CoreIDraw
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
• Enthusiastic about consumer product choices, self-motivated, resourceful, and eager to adopt new workflows and grow with the organization
• Proactively leverages AI tools to streamline processes, automate routine tasks, and optimize daily workflows
