Job description

Senior Practicum and Placement Coordinator

The Senior Practicum and Placement Coordinator is responsible for the strategic coordination, operational management, and quality assurance of practicum and placement activities across all academic programmes (i.e. early childhood education, psychology and counselling related fields) of the College.

The postholder oversees placement partnerships, student allocation processes, compliance requirements, database systems, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality, well-managed practicum experiences that align with programme standards and institutional goals.

Responsibilities
Partnership Management & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with practicum and placement providers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the College and placement partners.
  • Support Programme Managers/Directors in partnership development and renewal.
  • Coordinate partnership agreements, MOUs, and related documentation.
  • Monitor partner satisfaction and support ongoing collaboration.
Student Placement Coordination
  • Oversee the allocation and matching of students to practicum and placement sites.
  • Ensure equitable, transparent, and timely placement processes.
  • Manage student practicum placement records and documentation.
  • Provide guidance to students regarding practicum placement requirements and expectations.
  • Address practicum placement-related issues in consultation with Programme Managers.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure practicum placements meet programme accreditation, regulatory, and institutional standards.
  • Monitor compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and professional requirements.
  • Support evaluation and feedback processes from students and practicum placement providers.
  • Contribute to audits, accreditation reviews, and quality enhancement initiatives.
Systems & Operational Management
  • Maintain and enhance practicum placement databases and tracking systems.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Streamline workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and update practicum placement policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Strategic Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyse practicum placement data to inform planning and improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and diversify practicum placement partnerships.
  • Support the development of best practices in practicum placement coordination.
  • Contribute to institutional strategic initiatives related to experiential learning.
Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in a Social Sciences-related discipline is preferred.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience in partnership development and relationship management in ECE and social sciences fields.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and compliance processes.
  • High proficiency in database and administrative systems.
  • Ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities.
Salary and Fringe Benefits

Initial appointment will normally be made on a 24-month contract.
Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. The College offers group medical insurance and dental, staff development support and leave provisions (annual leave, birthday leave, college leave, etc) to eligible appointee.
