Job summary

Mace is seeking a Senior Planning Lead to drive planning excellence on a large-scale infrastructure programme across multiple sites. The role starts in November, subject to approval, and requires strong scheduling and project controls expertise to inform client decisions.

You will lead a planning team, coordinate with multi-disciplinary stakeholders, and contribute to long-term operational resilience and carbon impact management within delivery.

Position status: This opportunity is for a secured role that is due to commence in November subject to approval.

The project:

A large scale infrastructure programme involving complex civil, structural, and MEP works across multiple sites. The scope includes new town development, advanced technology facilities, and integrated transport systems, with emphasis on systems coordination, asset renewal, and long term operational resilience.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leads the application of advanced planning and scheduling methodologies to drive programme certainty.
• Applies strong planning, EVM and project controls expertise to inform decision‑making.
• Communicates insights and performance analysis clearly to clients, teams and stakeholders.
• Influences complex requirements and recommends effective corrective actions.
• Manages and develops a high‑performing planning team to deliver best‑practice outcomes.
• Contributes to net‑zero goals by proactively identifying and managing carbon impacts in delivery.

You’ll need to have:

• Strong written communication and up‑to‑date knowledge of schedule management tools and industry practices.
• Broad construction experience across multi‑industry, multi‑disciplinary environments.
• Delivers service excellence with effective problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement.
• Experienced in planning techniques; degree in construction/engineering preferred, with additional local qualifications beneficial.
