Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) is seeking an experienced risk professional to assist in identifying, assessing, and controlling operation risk within our retail banking operations. You will review controls, propose remedial actions, and monitor implementation progress while supervising junior staff.

The role requires a degree in business or related discipline, at least three years in retail banking with one year in a supervisory role, and fluent Chinese (Putonghua) and English.

Qualifications

• Degree holder, preferably in Business Administration or related disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience on retail banking business with at least 1 year managerial experience.
• Good command of both spoken and written Chinese (including Putonghua) and English.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Familiar with English and Chinese Word Processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisors to apply operational risk management tools to help identifying, assessing, monitoring and controlling operation risk.
• Conduct reviews to identify possible operational risk, provide recommendations to address the control weakness and monitor the implementation progress of the remedial actions.
• Supervise subordinates to ensure working effectively.
• Assist supervisors to ensure subordinates work effectively.
• Assist supervisors to formulate and publish operational procedures which are applicable to the work plans and work plans according to the development based on the Bank’s strategy;
• Conduct periodic reviews to identify possible operational risk, provide recommendations to address the control weakness and monitor the implementation progress of the remedial actions.
• Conduct periodic reviews to assure service commitments can be made;
• Assure frontline staff’s compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
• Based on the Bank’s development strategy or business change, coordinating and managing operational procedures which suit the department;
• With implementation of the Bank’s strategies and planning, provide feedbacks of relevant information to line reporting manager; Design proposals for enhancing overall operation efficiencies based on the division’s function.
• Provide business support and guidance to different units / institutions of the Group, in accordance with the strategies of the Group and business development needs (if applicable).
• Supervise subordinates to assure frontline staffs’ ethical behaviors and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
