Job summary

Tencent Foundation in Hong Kong seeks a senior operations leader to oversee grant-making, partnerships, events, and governance, ensuring efficient and well-governed operations.

You will manage the full lifecycle of programs—from initiation to review—while collaborating with finance, legal, and risk teams to drive compliance and effective fund disbursement and audit processes.

  • Excellent coordination skills and a strong team mindset, with the ability to engage stakeholders across disciplines and maintain close working relationships.
  • Strong learning agility and a genuine interest in AI, internet products, and tech for good; experience in AI or the internet sector is preferred.

Job description

  • Foundation Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations across grant-making, partnerships, events, and internal and external coordination, ensuring efficient and well-governed operations.
  • Program Management: Lead the full lifecycle of grant and partnership programs-from initiation and execution to follow-up, closure, and review-ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Cross-functional Coordination and Compliance: Collaborate with finance, tax, legal, and risk teams at key stages, such as project approval, contracting, fund disbursement, and audit. Lead the development and continuous improvement of compliance mechanisms and processes, balancing efficiency with sound governance.
  • Sector Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with NGOs, social service organizations, and charitable institutions in Hong Kong, supporting effective program delivery and long-term partnerships.
  • Process and Operational Efficiency: Strengthen operating SOPs and the knowledge management of the Foundation, continuously improving internal processes and organizational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Role requirements include, but are not limited to, education, years of experience, industry background, and relevant experience and skills. Requirements should reflect the practical needs of the role.
Required Skills
  • Professional experience with a charitable foundation, social service organization, or other charitable institution in Hong Kong. Able to maintain constructive relationships with nonprofit sector partners and relevant government bodies. Experience at a leading Hong Kong NPO is preferred; international experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent coordination skills and a strong team mindset, with the ability to engage stakeholders across disciplines and maintain close working relationships.
  • Strong learning agility and a genuine interest in AI, internet products, and tech for good. Experience in AI or the internet sector is preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Target profile: A senior operations leader who can strengthen governance and operating standards, ensure efficient and compliant delivery, and represent the Foundation in engaging sector partners. Strong knowledge of Hong Kong's social welfare and charity ecosystem is essential; international exposure is preferred.
