Job summary

Ambition is seeking a skilled sourcing and merchandising professional to lead Home and Seasonal categories from its Hong Kong office. The role collaborates with overseas buyers, evaluates new suppliers, and develops sourcing strategies to drive growth.

You will negotiate prices, monitor production schedules, and coordinate factory visits while ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery. Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is required, with regular travel to supplier sites.

Qualifications

• University degree; 3–5 years in sourcing, merchandising, or production.
• Experience in buying/sourcing offices or trading companies serving the U.S. market.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
• Willingness to travel regularly for supplier visits and market exploration.

Our client is a leading international retail sourcing organization supporting major overseas retail markets through a well-established global sourcing network. The Hong Kong office works closely with overseas buying teams and suppliers across Asia to deliver trend-driven home and seasonal products for international consumers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage sourcing and merchandising activities for Home and Seasonal product categories across assigned supplier portfolios
• Work closely with overseas buyers on assortment planning, sourcing strategies, production schedules, and market opportunities
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers and manufacturing partners to support business growth
• Conduct product, supplier, and market research to identify sourcing opportunities and emerging trends
• Lead price negotiations with suppliers while balancing quality, service, and commercial objectives
• Monitor order execution and ensure compliance with quality, production, and delivery requirements
• Coordinate factory visits, supplier reviews, and market trips with internal stakeholders and overseas buyers
• Resolve production, quality, and operational issues with suppliers and factories proactively
• Ensure suppliers meet required social compliance and operational standards
• Support vendor development, category growth initiatives, and continuous improvement activities

Requirements:

• University degree holder with 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, production, or related functions
• At least 3 years of experience within a buying office, sourcing office, trading company, or importer serving the U.S. market
• Experience in Home, Seasonal, Decorative Home, Floral, Home Textile, or related consumer product categories
• Good understanding of sourcing, manufacturing, product development, international trade, and production processes
• Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and vendor management skills
• Excellent relationship-building capabilities with suppliers, factories, and internal stakeholders
• Business-minded, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Willingness to travel regularly for supplier visits, factory assessments, and market exploration
